What to do after getting hurt in a supermarket

1. Get medical care.
2. Tell a manager and ask that an incident report be prepared; note the manager's name.
3. Photograph the hazard before it is cleaned up, plus the area, any warning cones, and your injuries.
4. Collect witness information.
5. Request video preservation in writing promptly.
6. Keep receipts showing you were in the store, and keep the shoes you wore.
7. Be cautious about recorded statements to the store's insurer.
